Newcastle United vs Neil Sedaka (To the tune of Neil Sedaka’s 1958 classic, “Oh! Carol”)
“Oh Carroll, Nolan, Timmy Krul - Shola I love you, you’re better than RaulOh Carroll, you made the mackems cry - but if you leave me, I will surely die Carroll will you go and score another; Shola, Timmy Krul…. etc” ———————————————————
Thanks to long time seater Newky Davey for this gem - made me laugh
We at the Seats would like to congratulate Andy Carroll on his first full England call up, he may not play but this is still some achievement for the young lad following his indifferent season both on and off the pitch. Here’s hoping if he does play he makes an impact an does himself justice.
Andy Gray is an oracle…heres his post on Betfair regarding the Question will Newcastle get into a European place at the end of the season.
»»»»»»
In short, no. Newcastle have had some terrific results - the humbling of Sunderland and the win at the Emirates being the highlights - but their home form remains questionable. They lost to Blackburn at St James’ Park in midweek and prior to that they were defeated by Stoke and Blackpool. If you want to get into Europe, you simply cannot drop points at home against mid-table opposition.
Bettors have to be wary of promoted teams who make promising starts to the season. Burnley began well last season and went down while Hull, in their first season up, earned some great results before descending into a slump which meant they only avoided relegation by a point.
Chris Hughton has done a very good job and deserves to treated better than he has been by the club. However, the current Newcastle one is not radically different from the one that was relegated a couple of seasons ago. Many of the players are the same and just because the Magpies are a big club with a great fanbase, it does not mean they will necessarily be able to sustain their strong start.

The funny thing is Mr Gray the team is a lot different to the one that was relegated, see the great responses…….
I am getting somewhat weary of lazy pundits like Andy Gray who say things like “However, the current Newcastle one is not radically different from the one that was relegated a couple of seasons ago. Many of the players are the same”
Where are Given, Bassong, Beye, Duff, Martins, N’Zogbia, Owen and Viduka ?
That’s 8 players who contributed to the relegation and in fact were major reasons for the relegation, since they all appeared to think they were to good to scrap for points, and expected the players around them to do it for them. But 8 from 11 means only three were trying. No wonder Newcastle were relegated.
AND
I can`t believe this man is a pundit. same team that went down that would be minus M(oney bags) Owen M Viduka D Duff. S Given D Edgar Geremi Habib bye S Bassong O Martins N Butt J mIlner C NZogbia
12 Players Andy and one or two or three only there for the money. One day newcastle utd will be up there again and the pundits will be saying ” I knew they would be back one Day2 and telling how they always wanted newcastle to win blah blah blah.

The following is a quick update as to where the Trust is at the moment. Further relevant details will be provided in due course.
Fan Ownership
As we have already said we are planning to make sure that in the future the Club becomes owned, wholly or in part, by its supporters, or at the very least with the supporters having a strong influence at the Board level. We have been advised by lawyers specialising in this area and are in the process of preparing a draft prospectus which will require both legal and financial scrutiny before issue. We strongly feel that the Club should be put back into the Community from where it came, and we think the tide of opinion throughout football is now in favour of this idea, including support from all political parties including the ‘coalition’ government.
- Chi Onwurah MP (Newcastle Central), “Regardless of politics, anyone who loves football knows that supporters deserve to have a say in the clubs in which they invest so much emotion and money. In Newcastle this is especially true. I’m glad I was able to bring NUST and the Minister for Sport together. We are all agreed about where we want to get to and NUST are looking at different ways of getting there. The Minister has promised to look at ways of supporting them”.

Pie Heed Predicts
Pie Heed Lawrenson is taking on lardy popstar Robbie Williams on the predictions this week on the BBC and they go for NUFC 1-0 (Lawro) and 1-1 (Draw) Robbie Williams. Fat twat.
Strange Fact
In addition, the guest system operated in British football during World War II meant that most teams fielded guest players. Amongst these was the Newcastle forward Jackie Milburn who made two guest appearances for Sunderland during the 1944/45 season. Another Newcastle striker, Albert Stubbins also guested for Sunderland several times during the 1941/42 season, including an appearance in the Wartime Cup Final, which Sunderland lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers despite a Stubbins goal.
First bunch of matches played last night in the Carling Cup, a place in the Quarter Finals at stake - here were last nights results
Birmingham v Brentford (1-1, 4-3 on pens) Ipswich v Northampton, (3-1) Leicester v West Brom, (1-4) Wigan v Swansea, (2-0) Man Utd v Wolverhampton, (3-2)
We mentioned in a post earlier this week that, The shortest priced teams this week were Man Utd and Birmingham…. and Odds have the last 8 as Birmingham, Ipswich, WBA, Wigan, Man Utd, Villa, Arsenal and West Ham.
So a 5-timer could have been had last night at decent enough odds).
Tonights games as follows…………
Wednesday, 27 October 2010 Aston Villa v Burnley, 19:45 Newcastle v Arsenal, 19:45 West Ham v Stoke, 19:45
The Fifth Round draw will take place on 30 October 2010, with the matches to be played in the week commencing 29 November 2010.
Tor Jørgen Svanberg was the only Sandefjord supporter who took the trip to Aalesund in a recent match in the Norwegian League.
Club director Øystein Ulsnæs, “He was standing there alone, I think it is a moving dedication. Watching the guys go over to thank him for the fight, got the feeling at the highest level”. Now he will contact the keen supporter. We will show that this is something we appreciate. When it is so special like this, he is invited to our closing party where we will give him some nice words. Sandefjord had also brought a rare point yesterday, after Alexander Gabrielsen 2-2-equalizer just before the end.
"Ever wonder why nobody wants to sign for us? @shiteseats for starters. Who would want to be associated with them?"
