Hartlepool Reserves v The Mags Reserves (27/10)

Pools Reserves are in totesportcasino.com Cup action this evening against Newcastle United.

Ian Butterworth will take his side into the game looking to pick up their first points in this competition - having lost out to Carlisle and Sunderland in previous rounds.

Although drawn in a tough Cup group, the Reserve Team Manager is looking for a good game to build on last week’s 3-2 League victory over York City,

“It was a tough group for us to be in so it will be an uphill task for us now but I don’t look at it like that,” Butterworth told hartlepoolunited.co.uk.

“It is another game for the education of our younger players who will be playing against some very good Newcastle youngsters.

“It will be a good test for us.

“Obviously with the game tomorrow night at Carlisle United, not all of our pros will be playing and we will have some very young lads in.”

And the fact that the game will be played at The Vic will prove further good experience for the Pools players,

“It’s nice to play here, it gives the youngsters a taste of the pitch, which is an excellent surface and it is good to play good football on.”

The game will be played at Victoria Park with kick off at 7pm - entrance to the game will be through Turnstiles 3 and 4 on Clarence Road.

Admission into the game will be at regular Reserve Team prices of £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.

With this being a Cup game, Season Ticket Holders do not get free entry.
